Latest Updates from Our Project:

Pledge Lock Reminder
about 3 years ago – Wed, Mar 17, 2021 at 04:25:10 PM

Hey all, we're going to do a bi-weekly pledge lock and charge this Friday March 19th again.  You should see an email from BackerKit reminding you to finalize your choices.  As stated previously, we're going to do this every other Friday up until April 30th.

We’ll keep the pledge manager open until April 30, to give folks plenty of time to enter their information or add more components with the advantage of the Kickstarter’s flat shipping and discounted pricing. If you’ve already made your final selections and entered your info: thank you! Our accountants tell us the credit card companies don’t like super long “open” charges, so rather than wait until the end of April to process everything at once we’ll instead be locking any completed BackerKit orders and running cards every two weeks.

"But what if I want to add more terrain pieces or change a choice after BackerKit processes my order and runs my card?" we hear you say with a note of mild concern. No worries there! Reach out to us at [email protected] and we'll make sure you can make the changes you desire up to the final lockdown at the end of April.

PROGRESS UPDATE

There are no additional manufacturing updates this week. We expect in the next few weeks we'll have some exciting pictures of assembled factory samples to post!

February 24th - Pledge Manager on BackerKit opens / late pledge period begins.

April 30 - Pledge Manager closes. Late pledge period closes.

August - Target for beginning to ship out rewards. Usual caveat for delays due to the pandemic.

We’re seeing more than a few orders in the Pledge Manager from folks who didn’t back the Kick. Those folks must have come from positive  word-of-mouth from y’all, so: thank you again for your continued  support, and please do keep sharing that Pledge Manager link. And as always, let us know in the comments below if you have any questions or concerns.

Pledge Management & Pre-Order Processing
about 3 years ago – Wed, Mar 03, 2021 at 06:47:29 PM

Let's talk about pledge management and credit card cadence.

Like many creators, we use BackerKit to manage pledges post-Kick. BackerKit’s pledge manager presents a user-friendly way for backers to browse add-ons, make selections (such as choice of color theme), and pay for any additional items or shipping charges. It’s also user-friendly from our point of view: BackerKit optimizes everything for easy integration with our manufacturing and fulfillment partners, and manages customer service for address changes and any other shipping issues. It’s an essential part of our Kickstarter pipeline. If you haven’t already entered your shipping information for your pledge, please do so now at the TinkerTurf Sci-Fi Terrain Release 2.1 Pledge Manager.

We’ll keep the pledge manager open until April 30, to give folks plenty of time to enter their information or add more components with the advantage of the Kickstarter’s flat shipping and discounted pricing. Our accountants tell us the credit card companies don’t like super long “open” charges, so rather than wait until the end of April to process everything at once we’ll instead be locking any completed BackerKit orders and running cards every two weeks.  We're going to do our first lock and charge of backers that have made their choices this Friday March 5th, then once every other Friday afterwords up until April 30th.

Pledge Manager is Live!
about 3 years ago – Sat, Feb 27, 2021 at 01:46:32 PM

Greetings kicknation!  We just flipped the switch on the BackerKit Pledge Manager which means you should be seeing an email over the course of today, Wednesday February 24th.  Mass mailing like this can take a bit so give it a few hours.  If you don't see that email perhaps check your spam folder, or you can visit here to get your survey directly:

https://tinkerturf-scifi-2.backerkit.com/

We plan on keeping the Pledge Manager and the Pre-Order store open through at least the end of April 2021, and we'll evaluate whether to extend that as we get closer to that date.

Thanks for the patience as we got the Pledge Manager up and running!

Greetings and a fine Tuesday to you, our steadfast kickernauts.  5% of you, 62 fine folk, will be getting your pledge manager today as part of the required BackerKit smoke test.  If you get that please fill it out as soon as possible so we can determine if the survey is working as intended.  Once that process is complete, and we make any small changes we determine are necessary, we'll roll out the survey to the other 95% of you!

That's it for now.

Update on Pledge Manager launch
about 3 years ago – Fri, Feb 19, 2021 at 10:13:35 PM

The Pledge Manager is where Backers will be able to enter shipping information, add additional items, and pay for those items + any shipping (as indicated in the Kick). We'd planned on launching the Pledge Manager today, however we discovered that BackerKit has a policy meant to ensure a positive Backer experience: there's first a review period by BackerKit staff, then after review & approval there is a test launch for 5% of randomly-selected backers, and after that launch tests green across the board we're able to open up to everyone.

The upside is that when the Pledge Manager is made available to everyone, it'll be a smoother experience for all. The intent being to avoid any messy data errors that could result in mis-shipments, resurveys, or other expensive hassles. We're all aboard for that notion (and it's not optional, in any case). But the impact is that the Pledge Manager will not release today as intended. It's not clear how long the review & test will take, but for now we're pegging next Friday, the 26th as the new full launch date for Pledge Manager. We'll keep folks informed in the Comments below as the process moves forward, and post a new Update when we're able to officially launch.

Thank you for your understanding and patience!
